Soon, the 24th District will vote for a new District Attorney when the current DA, Jerry Wilson, retires. The Republican primary will be held on May 6, 2014, with a run-off (if necessary) on June 24th before the General Election in November. I currently serve as Chief Prosecutor and have the endorsement of the current DA as the best person for the job.
I have served as an Assistant District Attorney in the state of North Carolina for the past 10 years. For the past five years, I have been prosecuting homicide cases across the 24th district and worked closely with law enforcement to ensure just outcomes for the victim's families. Families need to have trust and confidence in the District Attorney to do what is right in their case and know that their voices are being heard. Criminal law is about more than a conviction, and requires not only a good working relationship with law enforcement but also an understanding of the entire process: indictment, pre- and post-trial hearings, jury selection, litigation and sentencing.
If elected, I will continue to serve the 24th District to the best of my ability and ensure that the law is applied evenly and fairly to all of our citizens.
